History of King's Highway 62A:

The actual existence of King's Highway 62A has not yet been confirmed. A single Department of Highways annual report from the 1940s makes reference to construction work done on a route known as Highway 62A, lying within the District of Nipissing. It is the only record that I can find that a highway with that number ever existed. What makes this route particularly perplexing is that Highway 62, the obvious parent highway, does not pass through the District of Nipissing at all. The highway does, however, skirt the outside of the District of Nipissing through Hastings County and Renfrew County. Presumably, Highway 62A was a branch highway leading off of Highway 62 into the District of Nipissing. If anyone can provide me with any additional information about the mysterious Highway 62A, it would be greatly appreciated.
