History of Tertiary Highway 807 (#1):

This highway was constructed in the 1960s to serve a new Ontario Hydro Dam that was built at Abitibi Canyon. The nearby community of Fraserdale was determined to be the proposed northern terminus of Hwy 807, and Ontario Hydro built a short access road from Fraserdale out to the dam site. Construction began on the highway in 1963, and the highway was completed and officially opened to traffic on July 21, 1966. The highway was paved in its entirety in 1971. In 1977, Hwy 807 was renumbered as Hwy 634. Another, unrelated Hwy 807 existed in the Atikokan area in the 1980s.
