History of King's Highway 117 (#2):
The second King's Highway 117 was a minor collector highway in the District Municipality of Muskoka. The highway was created out of a route renumbering in 1974, when
an existing section of Highway 118 between Bracebridge and Dorset was renumbered as Highway 117. The
highway was 43 km in length, and it existed up until the late 1990s. The entire highway was downloaded from the province to the District Municipality of Muskoka,
effective January 1, 1998. The road's new name is Muskoka District Road 117. A different, unrelated
Highway 117 existed near Thornhill between 1961 and 1970. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
