History of King's Highway 12B (Gamebridge):
This Business Loop was created when the Gamebridge Bypass opened to traffic in August, 1961. The old alignment of Highway 12 through Gamebridge was renumbered as
Highway 12B. The highway was 1.9 km in length. The Gamebridge route of Highway 12B survived until the late 1960s, when the route was formally decommissioned. The
highway was transferred from the province to the Townships of Thorah and Mara effective April 1, 1967. Today, Former Highway 12B is known as Ramara Road 51 and Durham
Regional Road 50. Four other Highway 12B Business Routes have existed over the years in Port McNicoll,
Orillia, Coldwater and
Victoria Harbour. ![]() ![]() |
