History of King's Highway 17B (Echo Bay):

The Echo Bay and Garden River Business Route was established in 2007, when a new Highway 17 Bypass was opened just to the north of Garden River and Echo Bay. The old Highway 17 alignment through Garden River and Echo Bay became Highway 17B. This route is the first new B-suffixed King's Highway to be created in many years, and is one of only three surviving Highway 17B Business Routes.
