History of Secondary Highway 522B:

Secondary Highway 522B is a local highway in the District of Parry Sound that serves as a Business Route through Trout Creek. Following the completion of the Trout Creek Bypass in October 2002, the old route of Highway 11 through town was renumbered as Highway 522 and Highway 522B. The section of Old Highway 11 that was numbered as Highway 522B begins in the town centre, where Highway 522 used to intersect Highway 11. From this point, Highway 522B extends north along the former route of Highway 11 to an interchange at the north end of the Trout Creek Bypass. Highway 522B was the first new "B" Business Route established in Ontario since the 1970s, and only the third Secondary Highway to be given a "B" suffix. The other Secondary Highway "B" routes that have existed in Ontario are Highway 540B and Highway 550B. Unless posted otherwise, the speed limit on Highway 522B is 60 km/h (35 mph).
