Present Day King's Highway 12B (Port McNicoll) Photographs
Left - Junction of Old Hwy 12 and the Port McNicoll Bypass (Current Hwy 12). Most sections of Hwy 12 between Midland and Victoria Harbour were
bypassed by a new straighter highway alignment in the 1970s. See an Enlarged Photo here. (Photograph taken on August 2, 2007 - © Cameron Bevers) Right - Old directional "Y" junction on Former Hwy 12B near Port McNicoll. Originally, Hwy 12B began at this intersection, but the highway was extended a short distance to the west when a new curve diversion was completed on Hwy 12, which bypassed this intersection. Traces of the old "Y" junction are still visible today, including the grading to the right of the current intersection and the old "Do Not Enter" sign. See an Enlarged Photo here. It did not return to Hwy 12 after passing through Port McNicoll. Instead, the former highway simply ended at the entrance to the grain elevators seen in the distance. See an Enlarged Photo here.
