Ontario's Ministry of Transportation currently maintains 16,500 km of provincial highways
in Ontario. These highways are home to literally hundreds of thousands of traffic signs.
With so many signs being installed and replaced every year, mistakes can and do happen. This
page is dedicated to preserving the memories of certain highway signs which most MTO sign crews
would probably prefer to forget! Here you will see an assortment of incorrect, obsolete,
strange, vandalized, and other truly bizarre highway signs found on Ontario Highways. All of
the following signs are still up on the highways today, unless I have noted that they have
been replaced. None of these highway sign images have altered digitally. This is exactly what
the signs look like on the highways. Enjoy!
