History of King's Highway 14B:

King's Highway 14B was a short business route through Foxboro which was established after the Foxboro Bypass (Highway 14 New) was completed and opened to traffic in November 1963. The old alignment of Highway 14 through Foxboro was briefly designated as Highway 14B. The existence of this short-lived Business Route was only recently confirmed, as the route was described separately from Highway 14 in a Department of Highways' inventory dated 1965. The Business Route began at the start of the Foxboro Bypass north of Belleville and followed Ashley Street through the village centre. The route then turned northwesterly towards Stirling via Ducette Road and reconnected to Highway 14 and the Foxboro-Madoc Road (Hastings County Road 1, part of today's Highway 62) at the northwestern entrance to the village. Foxboro's Highway 14B Business Route existed for less than 18 months. Jurisdiction over the highway was transferred from the province to the Township of Thurlow, effective April 1, 1965.
