History of Secondary Highway 660:
Secondary Highway 660 was a minor collector highway that served as a cut-off route between Highway 69 (known today as Highway 400) and Highway 169 in the Bala area.
The highway was first assumed by the Ontario Department of Highways on April 1, 1965. Highway 660 was gravel-surfaced at first, but was paved in its entirety in 1971.
The route was retained in the provincial highway system until 1982. On May 1, 1982, Highway 660 was transferred to the District Municipality of Muskoka. The road is
now known as Muskoka Road 38.
