History of King's Highway 8B (New Hamburg):

This short business route ran through Downtown New Hamburg and nearby Baden after a new Highway 7 & Highway 8 bypass was completed around the town in 1957. The route ran concurrently with Highway 7B for its entire length. The 7.2 km route was decommissioned and transferred to the County of Waterloo on May 21, 1970. This fomer King's Highway is now known as Waterloo Road 1.
