Since being downloaded from the province to the County of Lennox & Addington in 1997, Former Hwy 133 has been officially known as Lennox & Addington Road 4. The county constructed a new roundabout at this intersection in 2009. See an Enlarged Photo Here. (Photograph taken on July 2, 2012 - © Cameron Bevers)

When Hwy 133 was first built by the Department of Highways of Ontario (DHO) in the mid-1960s, most of the highway has a rigid (concrete) pavement surface. The original concrete pavement has survived to this day, more than 50 years after it was built. See an Enlarged Photo Here. (Photograph taken on July 2, 2012 - © Cameron Bevers)

(Photograph taken on July 2, 2012 - © Cameron Bevers) Right - An approaching summer thunderstorm provides for an interesting backdrop for this view of the westbound approach to the roundabout at Lennox & Addington Road 4 (Former Hwy 133) and Hwy 2. The roundabout is situated about 14 km east of Napanee on Hwy 2. See an Enlarged Photo Here. (Photograph taken on July 2, 2012 - © Cameron Bevers)

Left - Facing east along Hwy 401 towards Kingston from the Lennox & Addington Road 4 Overpass (Former Hwy 133) west of Odessa. Compare this photo
which I took in 2012 to the 2004 photo below, showing severe traffic congestion resulting from a nearby collision. See an

Up until 1997, this short provincial highway connected Hwy 401 to Hwy 2 and Hwy 33 west of Odessa. As part of the general review of provincial services during the 1990s, it was determined that Hwy 133 served mostly a local purpose, and no longer carried out a provincial function. As a result, Hwy 133 was downloaded to the County of Lennox & Addington in 1997. The former highway is now known as Lennox & Addington Road 4. See an Enlarged Photo Here. Left - Old northern terminus of Hwy 133 at the Hwy 401 Interchange. Up until 1997, this short
provincial highway ended here. The entire route of Hwy 133 was downloaded to Lennox & Addington County in 1997. See an
Enlarged Photo Here. (Photograph taken on July 2, 2012 - © Cameron Bevers) Right - Lennox & Addington Road 4 Overpass (Former Hwy 133), facing north. See an Enlarged Photo Here. (Photograph taken on July 2, 2012 - © Cameron Bevers)

Left - A serious motor vehicle collision on Hwy 401 near the Former Hwy 133 (now Lennox & Addington Road 4) Interchange west of Odessa triggered this
massive six-kilometre traffic jam. See an Enlarged Photo Here. (Photograph taken on April 9, 2004 - © Cameron Bevers) Right - On and on it goes. Fortunately, rural traffic jams such as this are fairly uncommon on Hwy 401. This photo shows Hwy 401 from the Former Hwy 133 (now Lennox & Addington Road 4) Overpass, facing west towards Belleville. See an Enlarged Photo Here. (Photograph taken on April 9, 2004 - © Cameron Bevers)
