Left - Hwy 417 sign with "TO 7", "TO 17" & Trans-Canada Highway signs. Older Ontario highway route markers have the legend "The King's Highway" below
the crown.

Right - New Hwy 417 sign with "TO 7", "TO 17" & Trans-Canada Highway signs. The legend is omitted on newer Ontario highway route markers.

Above - Erroneous Trans-Canada Highway shield on Hwy 417. There is no "Central Canada Route" designation in Ontario, so presumably, the sign was
supposed to read "Central Ontario Route". If this is indeed the case, the sign is still technically incorrect, because it is on the wrong highway. The
Central Ontario Route is a branch route of the Trans-Canada Highway leading to Peterborough, Lindsay and Orillia via Hwy 7 and Hwy 12.
