Above - Highway transfer notification sign on Hwy 503 east of Kinmount. These white signs were placed on many downloaded provincial highways in the late 1990s to advise motorists that they are no longer travelling on a provincially-maintained highway. The entire length of Hwy 503 was turned over to Simcoe County, Victoria County, Peterborough County and Haliburton County on January 1, 1998. Hwy 503 was the longest Secondary Highway to be completely downloaded.
