Left - Junction sign assembly facing northbound traffic on Hwy 546 approaching the Hwy 554 Junction northwest of Iron Bridge. An odd quirk at this highway junction is that Hwy 546 turns right, while the through highway continues northwest towards Hwy 129 as Hwy 554. Although the route numbers suddenly change here, this intersection configuration best serves the predominant through movement over to Hwy 129. Note that trailblazers are used to mark the way to Hwy 129 via Hwy 554. See an Enlarged Photo Here.

Left - Facing south along Hwy 546 towards Iron Bridge from the Hwy 554 Junction. Note the old distance guide sign at right which still has an educational "km" tab affixed to it. After Ontario's highways converted to Metric measurements in 1977, these tabs were placed on all distance guide signs to advise motorists that the distances shown were in kilometres, not miles. Although once plentiful, these educational "km" tabs have been gradually removed over the decades and are now rarely seen along the highways anymore. See an Enlarged Photo Here.
